Thai Appetizer “Money Bag“or “Golden Purse“
300 gr Spring Roll Sheet
300 gr Ground prawns
150 gr Ground pork
1/3 cup Boiled carrot and dice small
1/3 cup Boiled potato, peeled and dice small
1 tsp fine chopped coriander stem or coriander root
Black pepper for seasoning
Granulate sugar for seasoning
salt for seasoning
1- 1.5 tbsp light soy sauce
1 Tbsp corn flour
2-3 leaves Leek (or fresh pandanus leaves, chinese chive)
Canola Oil for deep fry
1. Blanch leek in boiling water, count 1-10 second, then shock in ice water, Pat dry and set aside.
2. In a mixing bowl combine ground prawns, ground pork, coriander stem, black pepper, corn flour, dice carrot and potato and seasoning with granulated sugar, light soy sauce, Marinated together and set aside.
3. Wrapped the Marinated mixture in spring roll sheet, use 1 tbsp each sheet and wrap then tie the purse with leek string.
4. Deep fry in hot Canola oil until golden brown and served with sweet thai chili sauce
Recommend for a party at home as an appetizer.
