June 9th, 2024 Untied rope and leave Mesolongi dock at 08.30 a.m. After we were out from the canal we can see many fish farms around islands and coastline. Around 2 p.m. we arrived Kastou strait. There are many sailing yachts anchored outside Kastos harbour that means not available to dock on small quay. So we anchored outside the entrance of harbour. Wind from NW which is ok for us to anchorage here. In the evening we counted about 50 yachts on Kastos island.

June 10th, 2024 at 08.20 a.m. We lifted up anchor and leave Kastos island to Lefka island. Calm water and the air wasn’t clear. There were many areas for anchoring also many boats. We are approaching the Lefkada marina which full of yachts. Then dock quay occupied with Charters boats flags. We finally Med mooring to empty spot with no anchor sign which the area is under construction. One sailor guy came to help with stern line with some wind so it took a bit of time. No water, no electricity and no fees to dock while we were there. We took a walk in town and see inside the famous marina. Busy town and not relaxing environment.
Lefkada, A Greek Island in the Ionian Sea
Lefkada is the island’s capital and port town. The town planning is a very particular one and resembles a “fish backbone”. It connects to the opposite coast of Central Greece via a floating swing bridge (length: 50 m). The bridge offers easy access to Lefkada to visitors from all over Greece.

Hello Ionian Sea !Leaving Lefkada island heading to Preveza
June 11th, 2024 We untied rope and leave Lefkas dock early at 7.40 a.m. to line in canal waiting for canal gate to open at 8 a.m. a few boats already ahead of us. Out of canal we felt swell from open Ionian Sea with Wind 6 kts, boat speed 7.4 kts
We agreed to see Preveza!! Entering in channel and seeing big boatyard. We decided to called the marina because of a long quay was occupied by charter boats and flags of charter membership and the harbour is not for anchorage. Luckily by the time we were waiting the marina to get back there was one sailboat is leaving so we got a spot with med mooring style. A great feeling here! We stayed a government dock from 11 – 15 June, 2024 (for 5 nights = 46Euros) great wifi! laundry service, fuel and propane tank exchange. On the Next boat, We knew Bruce, who is a courteous English man that knew this town for a long time. Great company and likes beer, true sailor.
{It is sad to leave Preveza but we have to check out of Schengen (90/180 days) at Corfu.}
Our relaxing days in Preveza
Preveza is a city in the region of Epirus, northwestern Greece, located on the northern peninsula of the mouth of the Ambracian Gulf. It is the capital of the regional unit of Preveza, which is the southern part of the region of Epirus.- Wikipedia
We had a good feeling with Preveza. s/y No worries Moody docked in front of Preveza town hall. In the evening, watch the people walk by. The front restaurants seems especially lively in the evening. There is a supermarket not far away. Fruits and vegetable stores, Bakery. As well as a laundry service shop that provides great service, all in one place, whether changing the propane tank or fuel service truck to your boat.
Not surprisingly, two marinas can keep thousands of yachts. Next to the airport It is therefore convenient for yachts owners to store their boat here.
