A Journey to remembered

This is our first time in Montenegro. We are very excited! The reason to spend more time here is about Schengen 90/180 days rules. so from Leros island to Kotor is quite a long distance.

Trip to check-in at the bar together with Thérèse and Paul (s/v Iduna II) with their sophisticated manners. We enjoy their company for one month.

7th July 2024 Check out from Marina Bar, Montenegro. We leave dock at 1.40 p.m. The N wind was 16 kts. Our boat speed was 6 kts. It took just about half an hour to reach our new anchorage at Malevik Bay. At night time only 2 boats including us in this bay.

Anchor getting stuck by rocks at Malevik Bay!! Lesson to be remembered

8th July 2024 After we lifted an anchor and to found out that anchor getting stuck between rocks !! We did anchored in the rocks area! Struggling to pull up anchor chains for a while.

There was only one boat Italian – Australian nationality that they are leaving. Luckily they came to asked if we need help for a tool. Anyway did not use a tool yet some wind helped to loosen the anchor chain naturally. Now we know that if come to this bay again try to anchor in front of beach. We thank you for their help. Motoring to Zaliv Traste Bay near Lustica Bay marina to anchorage.

Solila (Tivat)

The first month is a memorable and impressive time with other sailboats we have met. We traveling to the same destination in-out and meet up again. Montenegro population of only 600,000 people. This world heritage Kotor old town will host summer international carnival shows. There will be performances of the Kotor art festival. Live music will play during the weekend for the whole summer. People here are generally nice and friendly together with modern young generation.

We love fresh bread here. The Montenegrin Big burger comes with a fresh bun. Grilled meats, good cheese, and wines are popular. Pizza in Kotor old town smells delicious and costs 3 euros a slice.
