Remembering the previous year, when we first sailed to La Paz in December 5^th, 2017. {See Our first sailing to La Paz.

We were devastated that it is time to sell s/v Beautiful Swimmer. If you want to communicate with the universe perhaps on a boat trip you will be able to see shooting stars as bursts of light. Feel the power of the ocean waves mesmerizing sunsets and met new friends during the journey. It was such an experience that we wanted to keep in our memories.

It’s a time when you can be one with universe when you’re sailing.

Six years laters….now 2023 In La Paz, bcs. More changes were made to accommodate the increasing number of boats. Marinas could not expand further due to unfavourable geography with shallows along the one channel. We saw many sailors anchoring their boats outside the marina in a long lines. Much of the congestion is due to the influx of charter boats, and large luxury cruisers. Also the numbers of American boats arriving from California seems to be double what it was. As a result whenever supply can not meet demand the price never gets less.

Not far from Malecon, one of our favorite bakery shop has been expanded to accommodate the increasing number of customers. We liked it more before expansion.

Global inflation causing the cost of mooring to increase by all. We just learned that Marina Fonatur La Paz will soon be operated by the Naval Regiment. It has become known that a travel lift has broken down and it will take a long time to repair. Same problem in San Blas that a travel lift is still not fixed after two years. Many boats can’t go anywhere being stuck on the hard for the second year..
Now at Marina Fonatur in La Paz, just broke for a while. (able to let the boat down but unable to raise the boat} except small boats Sometimes we think we have a problem but other boat have problems too.

We spent time in the marina organizing inside the boat and relaxing. Not far from our boat, a group of Mexican workers played loud music. They are rushing to build a large cruise yacht.

หกปีต่อมา….ปัจจุบันคือปี 2023 ณ เมืองลาปาซ  มีการเปลี่ยนแปลงเพิ่มมากขึ้นเพื่อรองรับจำนวนเรือที่เพิ่มขึ้น ท่าจอดเรือไม่สามารถขยายต่อไปได้เนื่องจากสภาพทางภูมิศาสตร์ที่ไม่เอื้ออำนวยและตื้นเขินตามช่องทางเดียว เราเห็นคนเดินเรือหลายคนทอดสมอเรือนอกท่าจอดเรือเป็นแนวยาว ความแออัดที่มารีน่าเกิดจากการหลั่งไหลของเรือเช่าเหมาลำและเรือมอเตอร์ยอร์ชหรูหราขนาดใหญ่ นอกจากนี้ จำนวนเรืออเมริกันที่เดินทางมาดูเหมือนจะเพิ่มขึ้นเป็นสองเท่า เป็นผลให้เมื่อใดก็ตามที่อุปทานไม่สามารถตอบสนองความต้องการราคาก็เพิ่มขึ้น

ร้านเบเกอรี่ชื่อดัง ก็เช่นกันมีการขยายร้านเพื่อรองรับปริมาณลูกค้าที่เพิ่มมากขึ้น แต่เราชอบร้านเล็ก ๆ แบบเดิมมากกว่าค่าเงินเฟ้อทั่วโลก ทำให้ค่าใช้จ่ายจอดเรือเพิ่มสูงขึ้นโดยถ้วนหน้า เราเพิ่งทราบว่ามารีน่าฟอร์นาทัวร์ลาปาสจะถูกดำเนินงานโดยกรมทหารเรือเร็ว ๆ นี้เป็นที่ทราบดีว่าเครื่องจักรสำหรับเคลื่อนย้ายเรือเสียและใช้เวลาในการซ่อมนานมาก ที่ซานบลาสสองปี ก็ยังไม่ได้ซ่อม เรือบางลำจึงไปไหนไม่ได้ ส่วนที่ลาปาสก็เสียได้สักพัก ไม่สามารถยกเรือจากท่าเข้ามาเก็บได้ (สามารถปล่อยเรือลง แต่ไม่สามารถยกเรือขึ้น)ยกเว้นเรือขนาดเล็ก บางทีเราคิดว่าเรามีปัญหาแต่เรืออื่นก็มีปัญหาเช่นกัน

San Evaristo village

Many boats anchored in front of the beach. To escape the week of strong winds So we had the opportunity to meet with sailors. Most of them are Americans and Canadians.

ณ หมู่บ้านชาวประมง ซานเอวาริสโต มีเรือหลายลำทอดสมอหน้าหาด เพื่อหลบสัปดาห์ของลมแรง เราจึงได้มีโอกาสพบกับนักเดินเรือ ซึ่งส่วนใหญ่เป็นชาวอเมริกันและแคนาดา

We docked at fuel dock, Marina Fonatur Guaymas to see the Marina manager. We had stayed before and left as the pandemic was declared, for a few weeks sail. Unfortunately like many we were trapped and ended up back in La Paz. The berths and yard where fully booked with about 8 boats anchored waiting for the boat lift to be fixed. there is no space available, and with the boat lift broken we decided that we should do across to Marina Secca/ Guaymas Marina aka Gabriels Yard.. So we called Marina Guaymas and got space for boat storage. As with every other Marina the price had been adjusted upwards in line with global inflation.

The donator Boatyards are all Concrete and that is an important safety concern. Outside the Hurricane zone they are still prone to the very heavy rainfalls that happen during the summer months. Like all sand yards, the danger is that the rain will wash out the stands on one boat which then causes a domino effect. But it is what it is. Of course insurance will not cover “Acts of God”.

The yard at Gabriels was a real mix, of Nationalities. Many Canadian boats, European Southern Hemisphere types. Great atmosphere, people willing to help out and a chance to be social with fellow sailors. The yard is at the other side of the bay to town so it means riding the bus or getting a taxi not hard to do but a pain if you forget the one thing you needed most.

I enjoyed my stay although the heat became oppressive as Steve stayed to the start of May working on the boat.

เราเทียบท่าที่ Fuel Dock Marina Fonatur Guaymas เพื่อพบผู้จัดการ Marina เราเคยเป็นลูกค้าเก่าก่อนมีการประกาศโรคระบาดเป็นเวลาสองสามสัปดาห์เมื่อปี 2020  น่าเสียดายเหมือนกับหลายๆ คนซึ่งการเดินทางต้องจบลงที่ลาปาซ ท่าเทียบเรือและลานที่มีการจองเต็มโดยมีเรือประมาณ 8 ลำทอดสมอรอการยกเรือเพื่อซ่อมแซม ไม่มีที่ว่าง และลิฟต์เรือเสีย เราตัดสินใจว่าควรข้ามไปยัง Marina Secca/ Guaymas Marina หรือที่รู้จักในชื่อ Gabriels Yard.. เราโทรหา Marina Guaymas ซึ่งยังมีพื้นที่สำหรับเก็บเรือ เช่นเดียวกับ Marina อื่น ๆ ส่วนราคาได้ปรับขึ้นตามอัตราเงินเฟ้อทั่วโลก

Marina Guaymas {ท่าจอดเรือเซกา} อู่เรือกาเบรียล …ท่าจอดเรือแห่งเดียวกันแต่ชื่อต่างกัน อู่ต่อเรือของผู้บริจาคเป็นคอนกรีตทั้งหมดและนั่นเป็นข้อกังวลด้านความปลอดภัยที่สำคัญ นอกเขตเฮอริเคน ยังคงมีแนวโน้มที่จะมีฝนตกหนักมากซึ่งเกิดขึ้นในช่วงฤดูร้อน เช่นเดียวกับลานทรายทั่วไป อันตรายคือฝนจะชะล้างแท่นวางบนเรือลำหนึ่งซึ่งจะทำให้เกิดผลกระทบแบบโดมิโน แต่จะทำไงได้ แน่นอนว่าการประกันภัยจะไม่คุ้มครอง "การกระทำของธรรมชาติ"
สนามจอดเรือที่ Gabriels เป็นการผสมผสานระหว่างเชื้อชาติอย่างแท้จริง เรือแคนาดาหลายลำ ประเภทซีกโลกใต้ของยุโรป บรรยากาศดี ผู้คนเต็มใจช่วยเหลือและมีโอกาสพบปะสังสรรค์กับเพื่อนชาวเรือ บางคืนก็จะมีนัดปาร์ตี้ทานอาหารค่ำด้วยกัน อีกฝั่งของอ่าวไปยังตัวเมือง ดังนั้นการนั่งรถประจำทางหรือเรียกแท็กซี่จึงไม่ใช่เรื่องยากแต่อาจเป็นเรื่องที่น่าปวดหัวหากคุณลืมสิ่งสำคัญ /สตีเฟ่น

 ฉันมีความสุขกับการพักในเรือที่นี่ แม้ว่าความร้อนมีมากในช่วงกลางวัน สตีเฟ่นจะอยู่จนถึงต้นเดือนพฤษภาคมเพื่อทำงานบนเรือ
